What is a Button?

A button is a type of fastener that joins 2 or more layers of fabric together. Buttons are moved through a buttonhole or loop to hold the pieces into place. Buttons are made of a wide range of materials such as pearls, shells, leather, plastic, wood, metal or fabric.
