Blind Stitch

What is a Blind Stitch?

A blind stitch is a sewing stitch that is nearly invisible from the outside of a garment or fabric item. It is often used for hemming or finishing seams on garments made from lightweight or delicate fabrics, where a visible stitch line would detract from the overall aesthetics. A blind stitch is created by taking small, discreet stitches on the inside of the fabric, catching only a few threads on the surface of the fabric. This technique conceals the stitches on the outside, leaving a clean and seamless appearance. Blind stitches can be done by hand or with the assistance of a sewing machine equipped with a blind stitch foot or attachment.
